Choose a Domain Extension
Which domain extension is right for you?
The extension (also known as a top-level domain or TLD) is the last part of your domain name. The right choice depends on your target audience, your market, and the image you want to project.
🇳🇱
.nl
Are you focusing primarily on the Netherlands? Then .nl is the logical choice. Dutch people trust .nl domains the most.
🌍
.com
The most well-known domain extension in the world and the standard for international companies. Many short .com names are already taken.
🇪🇺
.eu and .be
Do you operate throughout Europe or in Belgium? With a .eu or .be domain, you can immediately show where your customers are located.
🛒
.shop, .io, and more
Is your .nl or .com domain already taken? A new domain extension like .shop or .io is a strong and eye-catching alternative.
💡
Tip: In addition to your .nl domain, be sure to register the .com or .eu version of your name as well. This will help you protect your brand and prevent others from taking it.

More Than Just a Domain Name
When you register a domain name with Minty Hosting, your DNS runs on MintyDNS—our own DNS platform—by default. Your DNS is distributed across three nameservers on different networks and is secured with DNSSEC. This ensures that your domain is fast, secure, and always accessible.
Through our control panel, you can manage all your domain names in one place. You can easily link your domain to a website, email, or an external service, and you'll see right away when your domains are up for renewal.

Frequently Asked Questions
Frequently Asked Questions About Registering a Domain Name
How much does it cost to register a domain name?
That depends on the extension. A .nl, .eu, or .be domain name costs €12.00 per year, excluding VAT, and a .com domain name costs €22.00 per year, excluding VAT. DNS management via MintyDNS is always included free of charge. You can find all prices on the page listing all domain extensions.
What do I need to register a domain name?
Just your name, address, and contact information. This information will be recorded as the domain name holder. If you're registering on behalf of a company, please enter your organization's information.
Who owns my domain name?
You. The domain name will be registered in your name or in the name of your organization. Minty Hosting only handles the technical management.
How quickly will my domain name be registered?
Usually within a few minutes of placing your order. After that, it may take a little while for the DNS changes to take effect across the entire internet.
Can I register multiple domain extensions at the same time?
Yes. You can register multiple domain extensions in a single order—for example, .nl, .com, and .eu. This helps you protect your brand name.
Can I register a domain name without hosting?
Yes. You can register a domain name on its own and link it to web hosting, email, or an external service later.
Which nameservers does my domain name use?
Your domain name runs on MintyDNS, our own DNS platform with DNSSEC. The nameservers are ns1.mintydns.com, ns2.mintydns.nl, and ns3.mintydns.eu. Would you like to use different nameservers? You can easily change them in our control panel.
The domain name I want is already taken. What should I do now?
Choose a different extension or a variation of the name. Do you still want that specific domain name? Contact us, and we'll help you negotiate a domain transfer with the current owner.
